Weed in Eden, by AJP McClintock, the first of the Mortarboard Murder Mysteries, is set to be released digitally by McClintock Ink this coming Friday, the 4th of November (GMT). The book will be available to download via Amazon.com on Kindle for $6.99AUD.
Taking place at the fictitious John Oxley University in Brisbane, Australia, the book follows facilities manager, Bruce Springfield, and his dog, Soul, as they navigate the heat of summer and the day-to-day politics of university life, to find the murderer of a young woman and clear the name of an innocent man, who also happens to be his star groundskeeper.
McClintock Ink was created by father and son to release the works of AJP McClintock. For now, these works are only available in digital form, but as McClintock Ink learns and grows, more formats and projects could arise.
AJP was born in England in 1949, raised in Ireland, and will pass on in Australia. He spent nineteen years working at a ‘sandstone’ university and while these works are entirely fiction there is truth in some of the politics and behaviours that permeate through university life.
“In the last few years I started to note incidents that I thought would be ingredients to include in a book,” AJP McClintock said. “When I looked at them before starting the mysteries, I realised that the facts recorded were utterly unbelievable. I therefore rely solely on fiction.”
The Mortarboard Murder Mysteries series includes two more forthcoming works, Don’t Drink the Water and Several Wives and the Sisterhood, both slated for release in 2023.
